Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She had a family of 12 children. She had a vivid imagination that enabled her to escape life's harsh reality. life. Prior to learning how to compose and read and compose, she wrote the music she composed herself. At the age of 8, she was playing her first guitar. In the age of 11, she began to sing on the radio station of Knoxville Tenn. In the same year, she recorded her debut album on Gold Band Records an independent small label. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female performer to join his syndicated show in the years prior to this. Parton was offered the gig in 1967 signed with RCA Records in 1968 and began singing for in the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. However she left Wagoner's show in 1974 when her solo music, including Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were out-charting their collaborations. Parton composed I Will Always love You for Wagoner in the aftermath of their breakup. It reached number one. 1 for the very first time in 1974.
