Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with an English version in the year 2017 and soon after the most well-known artists began collaborating with reggaeton artists. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny for the production of MIA (2018) as well as Madonna worked on Medellin along with Maluma (2019). The gradual mainstreaming of reggaeton became an issue for certain performers in 2020. Rauw alejandro and a younger generation were keen to keep the look.
