Taylor
Taylor Swift may be the most unusual of pop stars. She was an artist who could effectively bridge the gap between pop and country music, conquering the globe. Swift shed country like it was a second layer of herself, proving that she is perhaps the most intelligent pop singer/songwriter of her time. Someone who is able to harness the mood of times to make her music personal and also perform in the opposite. The skills she displayed were apparent in some of her earliest tracks, notably the Neodue Tim McGraw. But on the second album Fearless that came out in 2008, she discovered the person she was and reach audiences across the globe. The album was hugely successful and not just in the US with six singles were certified platinum on the back of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and You Belong with Me. But it also smashed records across the globe. Swift's next album, Speak Now, released just two years after the previous one, built on the success of this album. It propelled Swift to the heights of fame. With her subsequent three albums, Red (2012) 1989 (2004) and Reputation (2017) Reputation (2017), the popularity of Swift grew, and she was able to enter a world of pop music where it was clear that she belonged. She was at the top of pop even after she changed her own style on her sister albums Folklore and Evermore in 2020.
