Lee Roy Selmon has a history that combines family scholarship football with community service. First of all the Selmons were brought up with Lucious Semon and his wife Jessie on the farm close to Eufala in Oklahoma as the eldest of their nine children. Two, football. He is among the three brothers that played for Oklahoma. All three made All-America. One year 1973 Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy was named the most offensive lineman in the country by Outland as well as Lombardi Awards. In the three years that Roy was on the field, Oklahoma won two National Championships. He was awarded a third scholarship in 1975, and was named as a National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon holds a bachelor's degree in education. Lee Roy's fourth time of service included ten hours per week of volunteer time in college. After graduation, he moved into Tampa and played nine seasons with the Buccaneers. He made the All-Pro for three occasions. Then he started his career. The first job he had was an Account Relations Manager at First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked in the past for Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized him as one of 10 of the most notable young males. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in the height department and weighed 256 lbs when he was a student athlete. He played for the team of 1975. He joined at the University of South Florida as the associate director of athletics. The College Football Hall of Fame named the player on the 28th of October, 1998. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame In 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame In 1995. In 1989 The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. The presentation was made by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
